In order to qualify for inclusion on DN’s Gazelle List, based on statistics from AAA Soliditet AS, a company must meet the following criteria over the four preceding years:

- a turnover of more than one million Norwegian kroner
- submitted certified/approved financial statements
- at least a doubling of the company’s turnover
- a positive accrued operating result
- growth in turnover each successive year
